Problem
There is a mail routing problem for which a cause is not clear and SpamSentinel needs to be disabled during troubleshooting in order to determine if it was the source.
Background Information
SpamSentinel can be configured to stop affecting how mail flows through the Domino server without having to perform an un-install.
Solution
For Checking Machine installations
All interaction with the mail on the Domino server can be stopped by temporarily disabling the mail rule created by SpamSentinel to put mail on hold. This is actually a cleaner solution than simply configuring SpamSentinel to be 'Disabled'.
a. Open the messaging Configuration document corresponding to the Domino server in question within the Domino Directory.
b. Go to the Rules tab and disable the rule 'When all documents change routing state - mark as held'
c. Issue the following command to the Domino server: set rules
For Standard installations
Set the General Message Handling option to 'Disabled'.
a. Open the Spamsentinel Server Configuration document in the SpamSentinel Administration database.
b. In the tab 'Message Handling' set the field 'General Message Handling' to disabled.
c. When you go to save the document, a dialog box will pop up for confirmation of your choice. Select 'Disable' again and hit 'OK'
