How do I move SpamSentinel with Domino to new hardware or Virtual Machine?

Problem

SpamSentinel in a Standard installation needs to be moved to new hardware.  This procedure is not for Checking Machine installations.

Before you Begin

If the version of Domino you will be installing on the new server is Version 14 or higher you will need select certain Domino installation options.  Read the details in our Knowledge Base Entry

Procedure

SpamSentinel data and settings can easily be retained during a move of your Domino server.  All the critical configuration information and working data is stored in Domino databases.  You can keep all of this by following these steps:

1.  Set up the new hardware and install Domino.

2.  Ensure the contents of the following folders from the existing Domino Data directory are copied or replicated over to the new server

\SpamSentinel

\MBE

\Verisend (If you have installed Verisend)

3.  Download the latest version of the SpamSentinel for Domino installer from https://www.maysoft.com/ss and open it in a Notes client.

4.  Carry out an installation of SpamSentinel to the new server.
