How do I keep Inbox Genius from moving internal Notes emails?

Problem

End users are moving messages from internal senders into folders such as Newsletters and this is causing them to miss immediately seeing urgent emails from the same sender at a later date.

Background Information

Inbox Genius can be configured to avoid creating preference documents when messages from specific senders or domains are moved into a monitored folder such as Newsletters, -Spam or Junk.

Solution

The 'Restricted Preferences' settings allow you to skip internal messages by entering the Org name for the company or the full Notes name of the user.  It doesn't stop users from dragging such messages to these folders but there will no longer be an Inbox Genius preference document created when they do.

1.  Open the Inbox Genius Administration database MBE\MBEAdmin.nsf and select the view Preferences / Restricted Preferences from the left navigator.

2.  Click the View Action button 'Create a Global Preference'.  This will create a new 'Restricted Preference' document.

3.  Follow the directions on the form to configure the preference to suit your needs then save it.
