How do I re-create the SpamSentinel user in Active Directory?

Created by Daniel Calkin, Modified on Mon, 3 Feb at 4:29 PM by Daniel Calkin

Problem

The SpamSentinel user created in Active Directory by the SpamSentinel installer got deleted accidentally.  A replacement user was created manually in Active Directory but when using the SpamSentinel Administration application, an error is thrown:

Error reading Exchange Active Directory entry.  There is no such object on the server.

Background Information

That specific error means that the user is not part of the Exchange Message Hygiene group

Solution

The simplest solution is to delete the user again and rerun the SpamSentinel Installation program which is often found to be still on the desktop of the Exchange server.

The installer will re-create the user, set the password, and add it to the proper groups.
